Art
Instructor: Mrs. Jordan

Summer has been super fun, I have worked on many creative projects of my own and had opportunities to teach.  I taught art to students in Massachusetts one day a week, painted roses in my uncle's sun porch, and taught origami in Rochester.  I went of vacation to the Bahamas where I was inspired and intrigued by the wood carvings and shell sculptures created by local artists.  I attempted to capture the light and beauty of the island on my camera. Using my digital camera  I looked for colors and textures on the island that I could use for future painting inspirations of my own. I went snorkling for the first time thanks to Mrs.Lorenzo's equipment.  I saw striped fish, blue fish, the water was warm, and the coral amazing!

I will be starting the year off in the Art room, the artroom is pretty much the same as last year accept that the windows are sealed off with cynder blocks as part of the new renovation.  I unpacked lots of new supplies, that's part of the fun to get all of our tools for making art!
   Can't wait to see everyone!

Traveling Art Show Artists
Above are the amazing art pieces created by our students for the annual Traveling Art Show Exhibition.

As part of Arts Week, all students in the school created window murals depicting icons from around the world! The themes ranged from flags, Statue of Liberty,  landscapes of the artic, to Japanese cherry blossoms. Students and staff did a wonderful job brightening up our school, all their hard work paid off.
